  • Sales Engineer
  • This position is responsible for being the lead technical resource for sales calls to answer and educate prospects and partners on issues ranging from features and specifications to integration functionalities. This person will assist the sales team in solution selling and promoting products and services by providing information technology expertise to demonstrate to clients the desirability, practicability and cost effectiveness of Shavlik's products and services. The primary responsibility is the technical relationship with customers and partners.

    Responsibilities:

    • Recognize sales opportunities from technical discussions with prospects and identify solutions through Shavlik Technologies' products.
    • Assist sales executives in pre-sales preparation, solution development, and general technical positioning strategies to achieve and exceed sales quotas and maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Balance multiple communication channels and provide customers the proper information to rapidly resolve their security issues.
    • Recognize feature requests and new product requirements to help create marketing/customer requirements for product enhancements.
    • Internally work with software engineers, technical support, quality assurance and services team to identify technical resources and to propose process or equipment changes in order to better service the needs of our customers. Work with software engineers to stay current on development of company's products.
    • Present at customer locations for groups from 2 to 25 people, including C level executives.
    • Research, test and become an expert on competitive products.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
    • 5+ years of Sales Engineering experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Extensive IT knowledge, with network security and infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to travel up to 50%.

  • Director, Product Marketing
  • This position is responsible for developing, launching and managing the product marketing strategies for Shavlik Technologies. The Director is accountable for the overall go-to-market strategy, market evaluation, competitive assessment and development of the product messaging. This position coordinates with company cross-functional teams including sales, customer service, product management, product development and finance to ensure that all marketing activities support the corporate goals and strategies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop the Go-to-Market strategy, in partnership with product management, including business case for new products and features.
    • Drive the product launch deliverables and timelines to support the roadmap, drive product pricing to meet revenue & profit goals and define buyer personas.
    • Regularly monitor the IT market and deliver industry, competitive and global trends analysis to ensure Shavlik leads the market vs. follows
    • Create compelling and differentiated industry content and messages, including thought leadership whitepapers, presentations, web content, brochures, surveys, contributed articles, competitive analysis, sales kits, customer testimonials, sales tools, etc.
    • Work with corporate marketing to ensure successful and targeted execution of various demand generation activities including: events, web seminars, direct mail, email and sponsorship activities
    • Serve as primary source of market knowledge and be a key contributor for delivering the company's value proposition to customers, partners, analysts and the press.
    • Speak at conferences, events, customer visits, field training events and web events. Network with key industry associations and thought leaders.
    • Work cross functionally to secure legal, financial and internal approvals for all relevant activities.
    • Responsible for recruitment, selection, hiring, and development of key team members critical to current and sustained ability to execute.

    Qualifications:

    • University degree or college diploma in business, marketing or high tech related field.
    • 7+ years experience in product marketing in the high tech industry (SaaS and Cloud-based Applications preferred).
    • Dynamic and confident personality with ability to successfully drive projects with minimal guidance.
    • Proven track record in performing well in a fast pace environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively.
    • A delivery-oriented, can-do, hands-on personality with the ability to work with business leaders inside and outside the organization.
    • Proven track record in crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content.
    • Demonstrated ability in launching and growing hit products.

  • Technical Support Representative
  • This position is responsible for providing customer technical support.

    Responsibilities:

    • Resolves clients' technical issues/concerns (system configurations & setup, product functionality and bugs/enhancements) via internet and/or phone.
    • Provide technical product expertise.
    • Serve as primary support liaison for internal and external customers.
    • Responsible to provide problem resolution status updates to customer on regular and timely basis.
    • Initiate and drive additional follow-up, testing and troubleshooting with company internal resources.
    • Responsible for appropriate referral to other support and quality assurance areas.
    • Deliver service and support excellence in internal and external interactions, verbal and written communication in every customer interaction.
    • Deliver web based, on-site customer training or implementation services.
    • Promotes and maintains a high quality, professional service, customer-oriented company image by adhering to the following priorities:
    • Priority one: external customer and how we can be of service to their business
    • Priority two: internal customer and how we can assist their support of the external customer

    Qualifications:

    • At least 6 years of customer support experience.
    • Good solid knowledge of Microsoft PC, operating systems (understanding difference between Server class and workstation class operation systems) configurations, firewalls and software applications.
    • Excellent customer service skills and able to resolve simple to complex product problems via telephone or email support.
    • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communications skills. Able to communicate technical information on community based communication media: Blogs, Forums, etc. and provide the educational approach respectfully and effectively to those who may not be as technically sophisticated.
    • Proficient PC skills used, as required, for testing, troubleshooting, call logging, product programming.
    • Basic project management skills (certification not necessary).
    • Professional appearance and presentation.
    • Ability to work at computer keyboard and/or phone up to 80% of the time.
    • Basic understanding of SQL Server or SQL Express preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
    • MCSE, A+ and/or Network+ certificate preferred.
    • Knowledge of DNS, SQL would be helpful.

  • Product Manager
  • This position is responsible to work with the Director of Product Management on defining the product opportunities and roadmap. The Product Manager is accountable to gather and prioritize customer & market problems, perform market & competitive research, deliver business case/justification, revenue forecasts for new product or product features. The position requires close interaction with customers/prospects and partners as well as internal teams including development, product marketing, customer service and sales to support the company’s overall strategy and goals. A strong technical background is required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and define the market problems and product opportunities
    • Monitor market/competitors for technology shifts and impact to Shavlik
    • Deliver business case justification for new products or features
    • Develop high-level requirements (agile: epics) for the development team and sign-off on the results
    • Manage the roadmap and prioritization of the backlog
    • Defining user personas for the product(s)
    • Monitor licensor (vendors whose technologies we license) for their technology enhancements & shifts and how that impacts our products
    • Define and manage release dates and milestones

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in computer science, engineering, life sciences, business, or other relevant high tech related field.
    • Dynamic and confident personality with ability to successfully drive projects with minimal guidance.
    • Proven track record in a fast pace environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
    • The successful candidate will have demonstrated past technical skills and 5+ years experience in the product management process and delivering a product or new functionality to market.
    • Seasoned judgment should have been obtained through relevant industry experience in cross-organizational assignments, preferably in product management and agile development processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to define requirements, manage and grow products.

  • Sr. Software Developer
  • This position works independently and as part of a team to perform product design, implementation, bug verification, and testing in a Scrum software development environment utilizing many industry best practices. The position will provide tooling support for the Patch Research team. This position will utilize business processes and tooling for fully automating and maintaining our critical data stream.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs complex product design and implementation activities
      • Performs design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules / sub-systems.
      • Participates in product design meetings.
      • Champions process efficiencies and further automations within the team.
    • Performs complex bug verification and release testing for assigned products.
      • Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems.
      • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
    • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree software engineering or computer science; advanced degree desirable.
    • 7+ years of experience in software development is preferred.


    • Required skills, knowledge

    • Expert knowledge and experience developing full-lifecycle applications built on the Microsoft .NET framework.
    • Design experience in OOD/OOP
    • Worked in a Distributed Systems environment
    • Web Services/WCF
