Tackling Third-Party Patches

Companies around the world rely on Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for patch management. However, in today's office environment, that simply is not enough to bolster network security. Microsoft applications are not the only ones at risk.

Third-party applications-such as Adobe, Apple or Google-are the cause of most current vulnerabilities that organizations face. As a result, organizations are forced to dedicate additional resources to ensure comprehensive coverage. Some organizations hire additional employees, whose duties include managing third-party patches. But that isn't always the best use of time or budget, particularly when there are automated solutions that integrate with SCCM-such as VMware vCenter Protect Update CatalogTM-to make the process less time consuming and more effective in protecting network security.
