Shavlik Technologies’ Federal Solutions Earn Additional SCAP Validations - including one for FDCC Scanner, Enabling Government Agencies to Simplify FDCC Reporting.
The Shavlik Security Suite has earned the coveted Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) validation, a U.S. government-mandated initiative for standards based security automation. The company’s federal security products have now received additional validations for SCAP capabilities, including one for Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) Scanner.
What is FDCC Scanner Capability?
The first real world application of the SCAP protocols is the Federal Desktop Core Configuration, or FDCC, that requires federal agencies to meet core configuration standards for desktop computers running Windows XP or Vista. By delivering a fully-automated solution with SCAP validation, the Shavlik Security Suite increases the level of security while also reducing costs for maintaining systems and software applications.
Shavlik provides a downloadable FDCC template that agencies can use to quickly compare configurations across a network to the configuration mandated by the FDCC. The Shavlik Security Suite FDCC Scanner not only discovers those systems non compliant with the FDCC, but can automatically bring errant systems back to compliancy.
